自落式攪拌機(jī)有較長的歷史,早在20世紀(jì)初,由蒸汽機(jī)驅(qū)動的鼓筒式自上料水泥攪拌車已開始出現(xiàn)。50年代后,反轉(zhuǎn)出料式和傾翻出料式的雙錐形攪拌機(jī)以及裂筒式攪拌機(jī)等相繼問世并獲得發(fā)展。自落式自上料水泥攪拌車的拌筒內(nèi)壁上有徑向布置的攪拌葉片。工作時,拌筒繞其水平軸線回轉(zhuǎn),加入拌筒內(nèi)的物料,被葉片提升一定高度后,借自重下落,這樣周而復(fù)始的運(yùn)動,達(dá)到均勻攪拌的效果。自落式自上料水泥攪拌車的結(jié)構(gòu)簡單,一般以攪拌塑性混凝土為主。
